Jared Diamond Project (Working Title)

What would you rather die for, than give up?

Inspired by the work of renowned environmentalist and historian Jared Diamond, and the multidisciplinary cross-cultural work of companies like Theatre de Complicité, I am creating a piece of theatre that asks:

Are there some things so important to us that we would rather die than change them? And how does this affect our choices in the face of global environmental crisis?

In a response to the global environmental challenge, my company, Terra Nova Productions, is gathering a group of international practitioners to develop stories of human beings in the past, present and future who faced the challenge and lived or died by their choices.

I am supported in this work by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, who have awarded me an "Individual Artist's" grant, and by a Coleraine Borough Counci Arts Committe grant.
